signs and contractions

Well, I have had some signs of early labor this week. It all started on Monday, when I had my strongest contraction. I was at Bryan's work and he was working on my back, when all of a sudden it happened. After we left his work, we went to Home Depot. I had to leave, because I felt really nauseous. Then, later in the week I had more early signs on Wednesday and Thursday.

I went to the doctor yesterday morning, because I had some show and needed to get a check-up. The doctor said that my blood pressure was high (this was the first time during the pregnancy). She asked if I was nervous and I said no, but that I was very excited.

Last night, Thursday, May 14th at 11:30pm my contractions started. They came every 20 minutes for a couple of hours. Then, they switched to every 15 minutes, and now, they are about 10 minutes apart. Bryan will come home from work when I need him, and once they are 5 minutes apart for about 1 hour, we will go to the hospital.

I really hope that the labor progresses and that it doesn't stop. I don't want another false alarm. I called my mom and dad, and Bryan's family. Everyone is so excited. They can't wait to find out if the baby is a boy or girl, and see his/her face!!

Our house is turning into a Home!

Grandpa K came over to help us prepare for the baby on Tuesday. He helped Bryan move our furniture into our master bedroom, guest bedroom, living room and dining room. It is great that we were able to get all of this done before our little bundle arrives. We were hoping we would, but weren't too sure. (Bryan wasn't promising me anything.) Today, I cleaned and unpacked some boxes that we hadn't touched since we moved here last year. It was great putting out our photos, etc. When Bryan got home, I told him that our house finally feels like a home, and he agreed. We can't wait to take our baby home from the hospital to our new house!!

Week 39 - Doctor's Visit

I had my weekly appointment on Monday. Dr. Wolfe said that I was 50% effaced and  cm dilated. He also said that I needed to have an ultrasound, because he couldn't tell if the baby was head down anymore. He said if the baby wasn't head down, they would have to try to move the baby or I would have to have a c-section. I had the ultrasound and baby is head down! :) Dr. Amanda (who did my ultrasound) said that I had a lot of fluid still and hopes that the baby doesn't decide to flip before his/her arrival. I have had a lot of contractions since that visit. I felt really nauseous that night and had only a couple of bites for dinner. I went to bed early and felt sick all night. (However, I haven't felt nauseous since then.) Feeling good and ready for the home stretch!!
