Sleeping through the night ;)

Claire has always been a pretty good night sleeper. I can't complain. Ever since she was about 2-3 weeks old she has slept for 4 hours and then woke up for a night feeding and then went back to sleep for 4 more hours. The rest of the day she would eat every 2-3 hours and would nap here and there in between. Now, she eats every 3 hours (pretty much like clockwork). She gets fussy around 2 1/2 hours and then eats at around 3 hours. At night, after her last feeding, which is usually around 10-11pm she goes right into her bassinet. (She loves it now.) She sleeps soundly for 7-8 hours. She will nap in her bassinet if I trick her. She loves being held and wants to be with someone at all times (either held or in the baby bjorn), but if I put her in her bassinet and she thinks that I am staying in the bedroom, she will sleep. Once her eyes are closed, I sneak out of the room. This usually works for about a 1/2 hour and then she wakes up. Today, she napped in her bassinet for about an hour and  a half, and she relaxed (while she was awake) in her crib for about 1/2 hour. She is growing up!

Take me out to the ball game!

Claire was at her very first Tiger's Game! She wasn't even 2 months old yet. The Tiger's won! We went to the game with Ross, Antoinetta and Gianna. The girls were great. Gianna slept most of the time. Claire cheered for the Tiger's and one of the vendors asked if she wanted something to drink. I answered for her and said, no, all she wants is a home run. Minutes later the Tigers hit a home run. I think she is their newest good luck charm and fan for life!

Claire's Best Friend

Claire has her first best friend, Gianna Maria Walker. The girls have been on several play dates together. Not that they played much ... but they enjoyed sleeping next to each other, and being pushed in their strollers. Gianna is 3 weeks younger than Claire. (Her mom and dad are Ross and Antoinetta. They are 2 of our best friends, and we get together often.)

Babysitters

Claire has been with several different babysitters the last 2 weeks.
Carin, Judy Herman and Janet have all been great babysitters.
They spoiled her with a lot of love and attention.
Everyone has been so wonderful since my dad is in hospital and
they love watching Baby Claire.

Smile's for Grandma and Grandad

Claire is full of smiles! She has smiled for her Grandma when she is being silly and making faces and saying silly sentences. She smiled for Grandad, too. When he was telling her "I love Baby K" and when he sings "I love little Baby K ..." She is such a happy baby!

Claire's First Smile

Claire's first smile was on Friday, June 19th.
She had just woken up and had her first feeding of the morning.
I was playing with her on the floor - making silly faces and talking to her.
When she smiled! She smiled for about 15 minutes.
It was such a wonderful feeling - she made my heart melt.
When Bryan got home from work he was so happy to hear that she had her first smile, but of course, we couldn't get her to do it again.

On Saturday, we went to my parents house to celebrate Father's Day.
Bryan was holding Claire on his lap and my mom and I were sitting next to him.
He was talking to Claire and all of a sudden she smiled. She even giggled once for him, too.
It was the best Father's Day gift he could have received!

Happy Father's Day Bryan! We LOVE you!!
