2 month well visit

Claire had her 2 month well visit today. She was really happy all morning long. I fed her right before we left for Dr. Mavani's office. She was asleep when we got there and I had to wake her up to have her weighed and measured. Her weight was 10 pounds 10.5 ounces (45th percentile). Her length was 22 3/4 inches (60th percentile). Her head circumference was 39cm (50th percentile).

The doctor was surprised to hear that she giggled once already. She said that doesn't usually happen until babies are about 3-4 months old. I told her that it only happened once (and that was for Father's Day and we haven't heard her giggle since). She smiles all the time, so, I think she will continue to be a happy baby! Claire's head control is wonderful, her neck muscles are getting very strong. She is doing a great job tracking movements and following them with her eyes and moving her head. She is constantly kicking her little feet and wiggling with excitement when she sees someone giving her attention and loving her. She is more alert during the day and plays more, too. She is definitely getting into a routine. And, even though we have been visiting the grandma's and grandpa's houses, and staying overnight sometimes, she continues to do a great job sleeping through the night.

Claire got 4 immunizations today and then she will get 3 more next month. She didn't mind getting her oral immunization (the nurse said some babies spit it out), but boy did she get upset when she got her 3 shots. Claire turned bright red, and then purple and let out a BIG cry. She calmed down quickly once I picked her up and gave her a tight squeeze. Poor baby!
